From the author: A beautiful word - procrastination. And what is behind this beautiful word? Don’t put it off until tomorrow... Procrastination is a process when a person constantly puts off something while doing many other things. Therefore, such a process cannot be called laziness. After all, when a person is lazy, he does not do anything that is considered useful. With procrastination, everything is different: a person is constantly busy with things, he is literally “burning out at work,” but the most important thing remains undone, postponed until “tomorrow.” Procrastination does not appear out of nowhere, it has a number of different reasons. One of This is their least favorite job. Or a task that is postponed is in itself boring and uninteresting for a person. You can write a lot about why a person works where he is not interested, why he does not do what he loves, what his soul is about. The most popular explanations are that I haven’t found myself, they pay more here, I can’t do anything else, I couldn’t get a job anywhere else... Another reason is the lack of decision-making skills. The roots of this problem go back to our childhood, when adults made decisions for us, foolish children: dad, mom, grandparents, kindergarten teachers, school teachers. It was they who decided when and what we wanted: to sleep, eat, go for walks, even put everyone on the potty schedule in kindergartens at the same time. We grew up, but not everyone developed the skill of making decisions, especially difficult ones. After all, a decision is always a choice; when choosing one thing, we must be ready to give up another. And this is a risk. The risk of choosing not the best, not the most profitable, the risk of losing, losing... So we put off important decisions and matters. We put off - we procrastinate - even if we do not know how to plan our time and set priorities. It would seem that it couldn’t be simpler: make a plan, calculate the time costs – and act. And you will have time to do everything. Give up something, put something that is not urgent and unimportant, do something urgent and important – do it first. This is where the problem arises: some people are downright allergic to making plans. Some kind of internal resistance to planning, following rules, recognizing certain restrictions. By the way, it is precisely such people who are most often late everywhere and everywhere and chronically do not manage to do anything on time. With resistance, it is best, of course, to work with a specialist. But simply learning how to make plans and set priorities is within the capabilities of anyone. Unless, of course, this is precisely our problem. The next reason is surprisingly simple - the amount of knowledge and skills is insufficient for this matter. The most difficult thing here is to admit to ourselves that we don’t know something, we don’t know how, we can’t. Well, the solution is simple - learn. Spend time on this, and then with peace of mind do what was previously constantly put off. In some cases, procrastination occurs when we are not used to working normally. If there is no emergency, then we relax, we can’t get ready, we put off completing even urgent matters. Schoolchildren and students are best familiar with this amazing phenomenon: they begin preparing for the exam 2-3 days before it. It can be given for writing a test, an essay , essays for a week, half a month, a month, even six months - anyway, we will start doing the work “back to back”, in the last days before delivery. Then the adrenaline is boiling in the blood, the energy is sea - the work is in full swing. But measuredly, 1-2 hours a day, slowly... Not inspiring. Various fears play a huge role in procrastination: Fear of change Fear of failure Fear of success (no matter how strange it may seem)……….It would be nice to find this carefully hidden or, on the contrary, fear visible to the naked eye and deal with it. It is unlikely that you will be able to get rid of fear right away. But then you will have the opportunity to stop procrastinating. To summarize: procrastination can be considered as a protective mechanism against nervous breakdowns, disappointments, and stress. And deal with yours.
