How many times have you started a new life? I have done it at least a hundred times. And each time it began not suddenly, but on some very significant, for me, date. It could have been a pre-scheduled Monday. It was usually scheduled either on Friday evening or after Friday. After Friday, I especially wanted to start living somehow differently, better, healthier, etc. And I even came up with an explanation for why there is no need to rush to start a new life. You need to prepare for this if you want changes on Friday. And you need to step away and come to your senses if the desire for a “new life” overtook you after Friday. How can we do this without preparation and coming to our senses? A new life after all. Over Saturday and Sunday, I liked thoughts about the “old life” more and more. And on Monday there was no point in starting anything anymore. After all, everything is fine anyway. For what? No need. Or, there’s another joke. Start a new business on the new moon. Well, when, if not on the new moon, should we start? The new moon came, but a new business did not begin. Or something else. New life from the new year. Now tell me that this is not about you. Why did I tell all this? To move on to what in us resists everything new and unknown. For example, the so-called “new life,” whatever that means, which clearly entails changes in the usual way of life. Today is about this familiar phenomenon to everyone or almost everyone, when you sit and do nothing. You know, we should do it. But, sit and don’t do it. You don't even get started. You always know what you need, but from Monday, from the new year, from the new moon, etc. This phenomenon has a generally recognized name. Pointless and beautiful. And how nice it is to hide behind this name, like... it doesn’t matter what. How does it sound? Well, I won’t say it. You yourself understand perfectly well what I mean. True, this phenomenon can manifest itself in another form. You managed to get started. Do exercises in the morning, eat right, or something else. You did a little and stopped. There are two exit options here. One justifier. The other is destructive. In the first, you, having done something for some time, stop this activity, and, with full confidence in the correctness of your actions, say to everyone around you: “I tried, I tried.” Have you all seen it? Did not work out. Well, what complaints can there be against me? I tried. Apparently there is something wrong with these recommendations and they don’t suit me. In the second option, you leave with a feeling of complete failure, a feeling of anger at yourself and with an ever-increasing feeling of dissatisfaction with yourself. This is how our life consists of such interesting events. And nothing changes. At least for the better. And, naturally, I would like to analyze such a phenomenon from the point of view of the general theory of resistance. Because what is happening cannot be called by any other word. This is resistance. To put it more pathetically, resistance to life. How many times have you said: I really want to go in for sports, but I can’t. Something inside of me resists this. Or. I really want to lose weight, but I can’t. something inside me forces me to eat even more as soon as I am about to go on any diet. What is this resistance? Resistance consists of the following factors: 1 secondary benefit 2 conflict of parts 3 parental programming And three things that provide this. 4 psychotraumatic experience 5 self-punishment 6 self-persuasion Find these factors in yourself, reduce their influence and your life will change for the better.
