A series of exercises for self-help in a situation of financial crisis In this series of articles I want to share some practical tools that can help if you are now worried about the current financial situation + together with you I want to clarify what a financial crisis really is, where it lives and how to get out of its influence. Reasons for falling into the shaggy clutches of a crisis: 1st Belief that the crisis has come to you. 2nd Feelings that captured you during this period. 3rd Field of resources to which you have blocked your access. 4th Actions that you do not do in order to change the situation for the better. 5th Hidden benefits that sometimes turn out to be more expensive than money and well-being. Let's start in order: This article is entirely devoted to the topic of beliefs that universally control our affairs, moods and results. In my next articles, I plan to continue the list of the remaining 4 reasons that may influence his presence in your life. In the meantime, let's start with 1st “Belief that the crisis has come to you.” Faith in something and conviction in something is the very first step that a person takes in order to launch the mechanism of self-fulfilling events. Well, for example, a man stood up on his left foot, and he was taught that standing up on his left foot meant spending the whole day in quarrels. So he thought about it, noted it for himself and went about his business. And as luck would have it, it was on this day that the number of unpleasant conversations exceeded the limit of patience. What is this? It was the brain, believing in the rule of the left leg, that set itself a program and in a split second the person tuned himself into the “needed” way of the prophecy. Attention was drawn to unpleasant situations, and the snowball rolled in the right direction, confirming the belief in the left foot rule. And for this reason, I think that one of the main steps towards change is working with beliefs. After all, it is beliefs that come to us according to a completely simple algorithm, built into the unconscious, and then begin to form our picture of the world, also form ideas about ourselves, provoking certain emotional reactions, and are responsible for some of our actions, which begin to confirm the viability of these very beliefs. Once upon a time, psychologists conducted an experiment. We divided 2 classes of students with a normal distribution of performance. One class was called the class of prodigies, the other was called the correctional class of poor students. And for several months they constantly repeated to the students which class they belonged to, and as a result, children with average and low performance who found themselves in the class of prodigies improved their performance, and in the second grade, children with high performance dropped to the level of poor students. Children believed in who they are, where they are and how they should behave in connection with these roles. This also works in other areas of life. The crisis is no exception to this. Why do some people live and enjoy life during a crisis, even it seems that they are not bothered by this problem, while some previously successful people suddenly experience this problem in their lives? Is it a matter of fortune? In the line of fate on your hand? In a lucky horoscope? Born in a shirt? It’s unlikely that everything is so mystical and fatal. Remember how empty medicines saved people’s lives in some experiments? People firmly believed and convinced themselves, with the help of cunning doctors, of course, in their cure, in new technologies, etc. And in a completely “inexplicable way” the body turned on the process of self-regulation. But if this is possible with such a topic as health, a matter of life and death, then why doesn’t it also work in other situations during the same financial crises? During a period in which, from all sides, people begin to convince themselves of its power and draw programs of unpleasant consequences. Our unconscious is a very powerful mechanism and correct handling of it can give stunning results. Have you noticed how the media stubbornly talk about the crisis, confirm this with stories that clearly show andtalk about what troubles it has already brought to citizens, make disappointing forecasts for the future in a tone close to hysteria and reinforce this with authoritative conclusions? You learned that the crisis has arrived and has already begun to act everywhere and began to vividly imagine how this is beginning to threaten you. You come to work, the team is buzzing around you like a swarm of bees, and the knowledge that you received from the media begins to control your attention, and certainly now 5 times a day you will hear this word from the lips of people you know. That’s it, consider you practically , they were convinced of this. Further, the screws were tightened by stories that due to the crisis, half of some design department was cut and soon purges will come to your department. Someone's salary was cut, someone was fired, someone lost their profit, and this entire information field squeezes you in a ring and drives you into the epicenter, imposing the role of a participant in this hysteria. And now, you are already convinced that the crisis has really come, you go to the store and you see prices that have increased several times, compare them with your monthly budget and that’s it, the trap has slammed shut. You now know for sure that the crisis has knocked and entered your home. Although a couple of days ago you didn’t even think about it, you made plans for the future, tried to look optimistically at the current state of affairs and, in general, thought that adversity would pass you by, there were minor troubles such as that some goods had become more expensive, some Some clients temporarily left you, some appeared despite this, somewhere there was a need to make small discounts, but all this did not affect your worldview enough to really begin to believe that the crisis had arrived and your picture of the future did not look like so scary and sad that you slowly begin to lose sleep. Thus, a narrowing of consciousness occurs and some kind of idea is introduced to people, and then people themselves, automatically, begin to translate this idea into reality, regardless of gender, internal values, intellectual development and social status. And only a few, knowing such mechanisms, remain not captured by this mass hysteria. We will not discuss here who benefits from this, why this is done, what it leads to. We will only try to influence ourselves, first of all, in order to make our life easier and happier. This is the most important thing for each person individually and also affects the general mood as a whole. And so, in my sessions I periodically include an exercise on replacing beliefs in order to reconfigure clients’ internal navigators. It’s no longer a secret that conviction in something is a powerful force that can work wonders with a person’s life and destiny. These miracles can be good or not so good, depending on the vector of this belief. And so, if you read the previous paragraph, you would be able to discern a simple algorithm that could convince and prove to you that you really found yourself in a crisis situation. Then why go far? You can also use it to take yourself out of the field of living this very crisis and look more objectively at what is happening to you. Step 1 – Create a mental zone “Convinced-Believe” and place there the belief you identified regarding the crisis, for example: “Now there is a crisis and we need to save money,” “Because of the crisis, I can be fired,” “The crisis will stop the development of my business,” “The crisis is hitting my income hard.” In general, everything that sounds affirmative and what you sacredly believed in due to the crisis. Step 2 – Create a mental zone “I open myself to doubt”; this is a very important step because all the social, emotional and informational pumping makes it impossible to even doubt the opposite. And doubt is a very powerful tool for changing beliefs and expanding the world map and changing self-concepts (knowledge about yourself and your qualities). It is very difficult for an unprepared mind not to buy into what is being said around them, supported by stories, authoritative opinions, and statements from above. Therefore, now you are opening a field for yourselfto doubt the truth of what is considered an indisputable fact, teach your thinking to be more flexible in the perception of information. Mentally step into the “Open to doubt” field - in this field your tasks will be: 1st, find 10 indicators that the belief is not absolutely true. For example: “Because of the crisis, I may be fired”! “No one has been fired from my department yet, which means this won’t affect me in the near future either, and I can test the waters and take steps to be on the safe side,” “If I get fired due to the crisis, then I can find another job, there are many companies in the country where my services will be useful”, “I have a friend who lives quite normally today”, “My spending today has not changed much compared to a month ago”, “My business is still afloat and the dynamics of outflow and inflow of clients, in general, is not different from the figures several months earlier.” “On the contrary, my friends are now opening and running a business,” “My friend was offered a more advantageous position in another company at this time,” etc. Let these examples concern both your life and someone from your circle of acquaintances, but they will show you that the situation around you is not as sad as you previously saw it under the influence of your conviction. After all, it is not the crisis that determines the quality of life, life continues to flow as usual, what is important is your attention and what you direct it to. Select in your context as many important examples and arguments that will prove to you that your blind conviction is wrong and move your conviction to the zone ( opened to doubt) and then move on to a new stage of the exercise. 3rd step. Mentally form the “Ready to Be Convinced” Zone and find yourself a new suitable belief that you want to believe in but that does not contradict common sense, for example: “The crisis will not harm me because I will always find a use for my skills, abilities, and talents.” " etc. Here you do not deny or suppress the fact that there is a general situation, but you also draw your attention to the fact that there is always a way out for you, there is always something that you can rely on and convert into money. This is important, because As long as you internally agree with what you are declaring, deception does not work. For example, if you want to convince yourself with the phrase “There is no crisis,” then you will still be faced with its influence - prices, conversations, percentage of customer churn, etc. the unconscious will not believe you and there is a danger, in this case, you will be disappointed and become even more convinced of its power. Therefore, try to select a new belief in such a way that it does not deny what you come into contact with in everyday life, but at the same time expands your capabilities and gives you confidence in your strengths and resources. For example, instead of “Because of the crisis, my business will stop developing” - “My business is developing, and difficulties are always surmountable + develop and make me stronger.” In general, the logic is clear to you and having selected the necessary, new belief, go to the 4th step . Step 4 – “I want to make sure” zone. In this zone, you look for situations that will help convince you that the new belief is effective and workable. Look for confirmation of it in your past, in the experience of your friends who somehow inspire trust or even authority in you, some people like Steve Jobs, Oleg Tinkov, the Beatles (in the years when they were refused and predicted a sad future), a neighbor from the 5th floor which, for example, managed to break through during the 2008 crisis, etc. For example: There were times in my life when, despite everything, I got a good job and my qualities and skills helped me do this (list - remember the qualities and transfer them to today), when I won the attention of a girl who seemed to me an unattainable ideal (remember what helped, list, transfer to today’s situation, apply to a new belief), once during the crisis of 2008 I didn’t even feel it because I found a niche in which purchases were made no matter what, etc. . (remember the condition, list for yourselfqualities, transfer to today in relation to a new belief) Steve Jobs actively sold iPads during the crisis of 2008 because his product was an innovation and people wanted to spend money on it, I also once came up with such and such an idea and it worked well, now I I can also try to come up with something useful, etc. (list the qualities of S. Jobs, estimate the state in which he did this, draw an analogy with yourself - find something similar in yourself, remember the situations in which this similar thing worked and apply it to a new belief today). The logic of this stage is also clear. The main thing is to find 10 confirmations from your personal practice and the practice of other people that this will work for you or has already worked for a long time. And we move on to a new stage of the exercise. 5th step. We mentally return to the zone from which we started: “I am convinced” - “I believe.” We look at the old belief, for example, like at a piece of paper on which the old “belief that is irrelevant now, after the work has been done” was written, mentally crumple it or cut it in a shredder, in general Let us understand that it is no longer valuable and, like any unnecessary thing, we dispose of it in the trash, shredder, etc. . And in its place in the “Convinced-Believe” zone we place a new belief. We can also write its text on a piece of paper and leave it in this zone. We mentally stand on this place where we have placed a new belief and live our present and near future under the influence of this new belief. How has the picture of the world changed, what kind of future is presented from its paradigm, what new perspectives are opening up thanks to it, what kind of attitude will one have towards oneself in the paradigm of the new belief, what steps do you want to take for the future today, based on the state that has changed thanks to the new belief? 6th step Do a check - imagine in this state a situation when you hear that there is a crisis everywhere? Has the type of reaction changed, has the anxiety gone away, has the attitude towards this phenomenon changed? If yes, then I congratulate you on successfully completing the exercise. If not, then return to the step where it seems to you that you did not complete something or did something incorrectly and go through the exercise again with the corrected changes until you feel satisfied at the verification stage. Conclusion: The algorithm is very simple and works, in most cases, like a clock, be it positive beliefs that can help increase your financial development, or limiting beliefs that will plunge you into the abyss of hassle associated with loss of income and stoppage of development. And you yourself can influence what you believe in and what you follow, and what you leave in the past as a spent document not suitable for use due to the loss of its value. It often happens that by removing or changing limiting beliefs, things begin to go uphill. But it also happens that changing beliefs alone will not do. It happens that there are still some factors that would be good to sort out and correct. If you like this article, then I will be happy to continue the topic of what else can help you get out of its influence and what steps can be taken to improve your psychological state and start a series of pleasant changes. There are still 4 factors in the plans that are not disclosed in this article. I plan to describe them in detail in the following separate articles, so as not to create information overload. In the following articles, the remaining topics: 2nd Feelings that captured you during this period. 3rd Field of resources to which you have blocked your access. 4th Actions that you do not take in order to change the situation for the better. yourself. 5th Hidden benefits, which sometimes turn out to be more expensive than money and well-being. PS I apologize in advance to those who want to express their opinions in the comments for the fact that I am disabling such a function. I understand that someone will want to thank, someone to criticize, someone to add something valuable. This article is of a purely practical nature, if anyone will like it and find it useful,.
