How often do we live here and now? Much to my surprise, a very small amount of time. How so? It seems so simple. In fact, there are a lot of obstacles. Anxieties about the future, our fantasies about the future, when we run ahead in our thoughts, while we are not here and not now. Or memories of the past, when we go back, replaying thoughts in our heads about what happened, good or bad. Many people talk about the amazing sensations that arise at the moment when they realize that they are here and now, just walking down the street and noticing everything around: the noise of cars, the rustling of leaves, flowers near the house, or just sitting with a cup of tea, inhaling its aroma, looking at the picture opposite. And at this moment a person is maximally involved in life, he hears, he sees, he feels, and each such moment becomes very bright and fulfilling. And this is the most resourceful state of a person. It is not so easy to remain in this state; out of habit, we begin to either run forward or go back. In the routine of everyday life there is a lot of monotony and very little awareness and inclusion in life. Of course, all this affects satisfaction with life in general. And if this dissatisfaction exists, a poverty of life appears. And then it is necessary to change everything, to get away from the usual “wheel of a squirrel”, which runs first in one direction and then in the other, along a wheel that will never end unless we ourselves jump out of it. Fortunately, in life we often meet helpers - people and events that help us become more alive. But it is always worth remembering that these helpers appear only when we are internally ready for this, then when we are ready to risk leaving the zone of illusory comfort.
