Typical day. The sun is shining outside the window. All family members are still sleeping. You wake up and go to the kitchen to prepare breakfast. So calm! After some time, the husband wakes up. He starts getting ready for work, has breakfast, gets dressed and leaves. And you are left alone with two small children. And everything seems fine, but you understand that something is wrong. You feel very anxious inside and don’t understand what’s going on! You're getting worse and worse. Suddenly, as if increasing in intensity, tremors appear, first in the hands, then throughout the whole body. Cold sweat appears, there is not enough air. There is a desire to open the window. The pulse quickens. Blood pressure rises. My head is spinning. And fear appears. There is only one thing spinning in my head, “This is ALL. I'm dying! What about them? What about my children if something happens to me now? Nobody will come near them. They will watch me lie motionless on the floor. What to do?". And this thought makes it even scarier. The pressure rises higher, the pulse becomes even faster. And now you are already with the phone in your hand, calling your husband, an ambulance, anyone, as long as someone comes. After some time, the alarmed husband returns home. And it’s already easier for you. He is here! Everything is fine! Children are safe! The doctor arrives immediately. You tell him everything that happened. He does a cardiogram, which shows everything is fine. Examines. And he asks, “Have you been diagnosed with Vegetative-vascular dystonia (VSD)?” If you answer “NO,” then he tells you to contact your local doctor so that he can schedule an examination. You do everything as you are told. And here are the long-awaited results. Everything is okay! And the doctor reports that you have VSD. The doctor explains that your condition is due to a malfunction of the autonomic system. Maybe you have suffered some kind of stress, or are overtired. There's nothing wrong. You are prescribed pharmaceutical therapy that provides relief. After some time, it seems that everything has returned to normal. But after stopping the course of medications, you begin to realize that you have become afraid to stay at home alone. Make frequent phone calls and try to be around people as much as possible. For example, go to a friend's house. Constantly call your husband and ask when he will arrive. Ask him not to go to work. And one day, left again alone with small children, everything repeats itself. And so time after time. Unfortunately, there are a lot of such stories. But each has its own reason. And its manifestation. And what this woman experienced is called a “Panic attack.” Vegetative-vascular dystonia cannot be called a dangerous disease. And many doctors themselves say that there is no such diagnosis. However, it greatly influences a person’s life. It manifests itself in headaches, dizziness, asthenia... Symptoms of VSD are diagnosed in almost 80% of the world's inhabitants. Often people don't even know they have this disorder. Symptoms worsen if they receive reinforcement. This could be a stressful situation, excessive physical activity, depression, intrapersonal conflicts and much more. As a rule, the first attack comes very unexpectedly. It's scary and memorable. Of course, you need to learn to get out of this state. What can be done... First of all, fresh air is needed. You can open the window slightly, take off the suffocating clothes if you are wearing them. Lie down comfortably, preferably with your head lower than your feet, and cover yourself with a blanket. You can take a sedative if your doctor has prescribed it for you. It is very important to learn to react more calmly to attacks. Try to switch your attention. It is important to understand that all the sensations that you have at the moment do not pose a danger to you. But I want to repeat that first you need to undergo an examination to make sure that you do not have any health problems. VSD can accurately be classified as a psychosomatic disorder, since its symptoms are very closely related to our emotional state, to our experiences. Therefore, treat this disorder!
