I know what to do, but I don’t do it. Sound familiar? This state can be called the fashionable word “procrastination” or in the old fashioned way “laziness”, but no matter what you call it, you have to get out of it. I’ll tell you what algorithm I use when I’m frozen between the desire to act and the seeming impossibility of doing anything about it direction. Is it mine? First of all, I determine whether this is my desire. Every year I get less and less excited about other people’s goals and rarely do anything according to someone else’s wishes, be it my parents, friends or other relatives. But it wasn’t always like this, so I’m starting with this. My most vivid personal memory is learning English. Since school there have been attempts to master a foreign language, but they were all in vain. The tutors gave up on me, and I spent money to pay for their services. Until one day, with an effort of will, I stopped this game - the weight fell off my shoulders, but my life did not get any worse. And with other people who find themselves in a state of inexplicable blockage, I start with the question - do you need this or do you really need this? The question is simple, but we don’t always answer it honestly. I don’t want to admit that we fell for the advertising, we are still trying to please our mother or imitating our colleague. Therefore, we insist that yes, this is indeed my desire. Honesty will bring relief - you will throw off the burden of other people's ideas from your shoulders. Maybe at zero? Sometimes the reason is so banal - ordinary fatigue, that such a thought does not come to mind. We will analyze the phases of the moon, listen to the echoes of childhood traumas and endlessly motivate ourselves, but last of all we will remember that we do not get enough sleep, we worked a lot and just recently got very sick. This happens to me - I earn money, although I have not worked for a long time on weekends and after 18:00. But the load in the interval from 7 am to 6 pm can be strong, which affects the physical and emotional state. Yoga helps prevent it when practiced regularly. Yes, to replenish my resources, I need physical activity, well, at such a smooth pace in order to ground myself. The depletion of the resources of the physical body plays an important role, so evaluate your reserves of strength, taking into account what has happened to you lately. By the way, success is the implementation of your plans, can also cause a pause. You yourself don’t know how, and your body forces you to spend at least a little time in the “being” mode, postponing the next achievements. Who is against? If my desire and strength have not gone into achieving to such an extent that you sleep without your hind legs, then you need to look for someone who against the implementation of the plan. There is an internal conflict. If I have chosen/invented a goal, then I do not need additional motivation to achieve it. The idea of ​​convincing myself or reinforcing it with additional incentives has always seemed dubious to me. If I stand still instead of moving, it means someone inside is against me. We need to find this subpersonality and determine its purpose. It can protect me from failure, refusal, defeat or some other pain. And then I need to reconcile those parts that are tearing me apart from the inside - resolve the internal conflict between the part that wants to realize my plans and the part that is afraid/protects. Any techniques from psychodrama, coaching, dialogue of voices, as well as metaphorical cards or written practices will come to the rescue. Usually, after resolving an internal conflict, the strength to act appears. And movement towards the chosen goal occurs easily, because there is no resistance inside, and we usually overcome external obstacles more easily than internal ones. This stage of resolving the internal conflict can take a long time. It is not always possible to immediately identify who we are arguing with. And it’s not possible to reach an agreement right away.
