The hardest thing is to fight with yourself. After all, the forces are equal. The pre-holiday bustle and fabulous anticipation of the New Year, Christmas and Epiphany holidays are over. The holidays themselves have passed. With their inimitable atmosphere of kindness, magic, family unity and childish joy. And I want to start life from scratch, and fill every page with only pleasant events. Everyone expects positive changes in their lives that should happen with the wave of someone's magic wand. They expect and believe in wonderful changes. But we are returning to reality, where we must not only believe, but also do something. This article is dedicated to everyone who has ever struggled with temptation, addiction, put things off and persuaded themselves to do something on Monday or the New Year - that is, to all of us. And so that there are no disappointments, but dreams come true and desires come true - we need willpower. That is, the ability to control attention, feelings and desires. Physical health, financial situation, relationships with others and professional success depend on willpower - and this is a well-known fact. But why do we so often lack this very willpower: one moment we control ourselves, and the next we are overwhelmed by feelings and we lose control? How to learn to replace bad habits with useful ones, how to stop putting things off until the last moment, learn to concentrate and cope with stress. First, let's believe in our capabilities. Choose your test of willpower. The following questions will help you determine it: - Test of strength “I will.” Is there something that you want to do more than anything else, or something that you want to stop putting off until later, because you know that this will make your life a lot easier? – Test of “I Won’t” strength. What is your most “sticky” habit? What would you like to get rid of or what would you like to do less often because it is harmful to your health, interferes with your happiness or success? -The “I Want” Power Challenge: What is your most important long-term goal that you want to dedicate your energy to? What urgent want is most likely to tempt you and distract you from this goal? The ability to say no to yourself is one of the components of willpower. This is especially important when uncertainty, petty concerns, or the endless stream of reality television shows try to distract and convince you. This ability to do what you should, even if some part of your soul does not want to, is what we call the “I Will” power. “Power.” I will" and "I won't" are two sides of self-control, but it is not limited to them. To say no and yes at random, you need a third strength: the ability to remember what you really want. To control yourself, you need to know what you need - really important. This is the power of “I want.” Self-control is the control of the three forces: “I will”, “I will not”, “I want”, and it helps you achieve your goals. It helps us become better people. The structure of the modern human brain has given each of us multiple personalities that compete for control over our thoughts, feelings and actions. Any test of willpower is a battle between different aspects. For the higher self to win, we need to strengthen our systems of self-awareness and self-control. When we achieve this, we will find in ourselves the strength of will and the power of “I want” to do what is more difficult. To do this, keep track of your volitional decisions. For at least one day, try to mentally note each decision you make in connection with your test of willpower. This is control. To relax, do five minutes of meditation every day to train your brain. At this time, focus on your breathing, saying to yourself “inhale” and “exhale.” When you begin to wander into other thoughts, notice this and return to your breathing. The point of meditation is not to get rid of all thoughts. She teaches you how not to get lost in them and not to forget what your goal is. Do not worry, .
