From the author: Recommendations for parents Why do we need child psychologists. Times change! “Today’s” children are not “yesterday’s” adults. It is very important for the generation of parents to understand that in our age of globalization, when progress is taking place by leaps and bounds, the generation of children needs help in adapting to this modern world, to a society that sets strict limits for us all. Many children live in a state of constant anxiety caused by the inability to interact with others, errors in upbringing, psychotraumatic situations in the family, developmental delays, etc. Like a vicious circle, psychological problems drag the still imperfect child’s psyche into a pool of total misunderstanding, aggression, and negativity. The child often withdraws into himself, difficulties appear in relationships with adults and the environment, in most cases, parents think that this or that situation in the child’s behavior will resolve itself, thereby eliminating themselves and letting the “problem” take its course, without realizing all the responsibility and the severity of the consequences. It is well known that many complexes and psychological problems, as well as the most important components of an adult personality, are laid down and formed precisely in childhood. Child psychologists, first of all, help restore the natural and characteristic mental balance of a child. Making every effort, a specialist will look into each case individually, find the root cause of the problem, study the child’s wishes and needs, suggest ways to correct unwanted behavior and restore lost psychological balance. The child psychologist will also help the parent learn to understand their child and interact correctly with him and, as a result, a gradual improvement not only in behavior and the condition of the child, but also a favorable psychological climate in the family. Children are our future and it is in our power to help them in the present grow into a psychologically healthy and fully developing personality. Evgenia Tsitserova, psychologist, Moscow - Chekhov
