Good day! Today I want to talk to you about why we need to work with a psychologist. Why do we need a psychologist if we ourselves are responsible for our change? The fact is that we all, to some extent, ignore some aspects of reality that may threaten our picture of the world, which fits into our scenario. This picture of the world is formed in children up to 6 years of age, it is influenced by family of origin, environment and culture. In the future, we confirm it in every possible way in adult life. When we enter the scenario, we begin to ignore something in order to protect our worldview. In this way, we prevent ourselves from seeing new paths and solutions or giving a different interpretation of what is happening. We fall into the trap in which we can confirm our old early decisions about ourselves and the world. The trap is that we do not see other solutions and possibilities. If I need to solve some problems, or want to change, then I need to become aware of those aspects of reality that I have so far ignored. We can independently discover and correct them with with the help of our inner Adult, with the help of new experiences, discoveries about ourselves, others and the world, studying literature, new acquaintances and contacts. However, in our worldview there are certain aspects that in our inner Child (Children's Ego-state) are perceived as especially important for of my existence, they are the ones we support and protect most strongly and this happens unconsciously. To see and change these areas, we need another person who does not have our blind spots. Friends and family members often share the same disregards and our pictures are similar or close. Working with a psychologist is about getting a new source of feedback that is not influenced by my ideas and blind spots. When we begin to use feedback and change our perception of the world, these changes awaken fear in our inner Child, because this is what something new and unknown. To go through the process of change, I need the support and protection of other people, which will contribute to my change. I can get all this by working with a psychologist! In TA they say: “In order to feel better, you don’t have to get sick first.” In my understanding, in order to benefit from working with a psychologist, it is not even necessary to have a “problem”, but rather the desire for change, the desire to get more from life, and I am ready to support you on the path to this!
