There is a connection between the psychosomatics of skin itching and mental states such as dissatisfaction with oneself or others and aversion to criticism. Today, this is one of the hot topics. When studying the relationship between emotional well-being and physical health, it turned out that the immune system does not respond to criticism in the best way. Often, as a signal of this process, itching of the skin. My client, let's call her Lucy, has been suffering from itching for a long time skin. Here are her words: I understand that itching is not always decent, but I can’t do anything. I also criticize myself for this and the itching bothers me. I don’t like when people criticize me. Substances that cause itchy skin can be compared to an insect bite, only bites do not come from real external factors, for example, insects, but from an internal state, from negative automatic thoughts and emotions. The body perceives such an internal state as tension. Consider the example of Lucy, who suffers from itchy skin due to her negative reaction to criticism. For her, criticism is like insect bites, with the difference that there are no real bites, but there are such “virtual” bites from the inside due to the fact that there are unlived and unacknowledged “toxic” beliefs behind which there are emotions. Lucy, every time experiencing itchy skin, she plunged into a whirlwind of her negative emotions associated with the fact that she does not like being criticized. The phrase: I don’t like being criticized! I don’t ask for a negative opinion, but it is imposed on me. It became a trigger for her for fear and anxiety and dissatisfaction, reflected on her skin through itching and irritation. The scenario psychologist, the author of the article, as a guide in the world of her internal storms and conflicts, helped Lyusa understand that her negative reaction to criticism has roots in her childhood and the experience of relationships with loved ones, which cause itchy skin. She looked and studied her situations and was able to decipher and transform her attitude towards criticism, perceiving it not as a threat, but as an opportunity to accept criticism or not, and only if the criticism was at her request and from an expert in this field, then use this knowledge for growth and self-improvement. Skin psychosomatics, as a reaction to internal experiences and mental conflicts, reminded Lucy of the need to work on her emotional balance and self-understanding. Healing through acceptance begins with awareness and acceptance of one’s emotions and reactions without judgment and self-criticism. How interesting do our childhood beliefs work? Paradoxically. No one criticizes us so much and so mercilessly as we criticize ourselves. Moreover, this background critic does not stop talking if you don’t pay attention to him. A scenario psychologist, in this context, is support and direction to new ways of thinking and behavior. Through the process of exploring her beliefs and emotions, Lucy begins to see criticism differently, turning it into a means for personal growth and development. So, working with a scenario psychologist, the author of this article, not only helps to reveal the hidden causes of psychosomatic manifestations , but also promotes inner healing and self-acceptance. A scenario psychologist becomes a guide to changing attitudes towards oneself and others, opening the way to new horizons of self-understanding and health. Do you often criticize yourself?
