There is a popular phrase: “surround yourself only with those people who will pull you higher.” Why? Why? In the 90s, scientists discovered mirror neurons in different structures of the brain. Mirror neurons are nerve cells that fire when we move ourselves and when we see or hear other people doing it. When they are activated, the brain seems to imitate the observed action and “try on” it for itself. The essence of the phenomenon is that the mirror system forces us to copy not only movements, but also complex aspects of the behavior of other people. (there are some nuances there, because the brain does not copy everything, but only what can be useful to it). This very important discovery helps us learn effectively not only from birth, but throughout our lives. So, the baby repeats his mother’s smile, although he has no idea what it is and why it is needed at all. Or the child begins to speak, repeating words after his parents and this is how he learns to speak. As we grow up, we begin to imitate the people around us without noticing it ourselves. There is an expression: “tell me who your friend is and I will tell you who you are.” If you look closely, then, as a rule, our thinking, outlook on life, and habits will be somewhat similar. Especially with the people we live with. Therefore, on the one hand, it is worth paying attention to who surrounds us and how this environment influences us. On the other hand, it is important to understand what we bring to the world, because when communicating with us, our loved ones, friends, children unconsciously imitate us! But here I want to point out something else important: Some people have such a misconception and fear, it sounds something like this: “I had a very difficult childhood, my life is doomed, I will repeat all the patterns, I haven’t seen anything else and I don’t know how to do otherwise.” Stop, stop, let's slow down. We are much more interesting and complex. Of course, not only our childhood determines our future life.....(it’s a good idea to relieve ourselves of all responsibility at the current moment)) We develop according to the principle of the BioPsychoSocial approach. There are genetics, there are our psychological characteristics and there is the environment in which we live. So, our society, the environment in which we live at the moment can have a very dramatic effect on us, and mirror neurons are proof of this. There are a large number of people who, despite difficulties in childhood, are now successful and feel like happy people, because under the influence of a different environment a certain reconstruction of the personality occurs and the process of mastering new skills and habits also produces results. Good mirroring to you!😉
