In continuation of the article, which caused a great response from readers How to conduct career guidance for a teenager yourself. Technique, I would like to add something and give some explanations. These explanations will be useful to you if you are just a parent/grandparent and are not a psychologist. Let me remind you that you, together with your child or young client who is faced with choosing their professional path, were asked to complete an exercise. So that you are not distracted by clicking on links, I’ll just give a screenshot from the previous article: I would like to add that at each of the positions: after three a year, after five years, after seven years, after ten years, a teenager should be put into a state of light trance, so that he can tune out rationalization and respond at the level of his intuitive perception. You can enter a state of very light trance using a simple breathing pattern : You need to inhale through your nose and exhale through your slightly open mouth. Breathe deeply and slowly. On the count of “one-two” - inhale and on the count of “three-four” - exhale. To achieve visualization by a teenager of what he sees and feels, you can ask him questions , similar to those asked in Symboldram: - What time of year is it now? - What is the weather? - What are you wearing? It is important to ask to tell what exactly you see, in more detail and to focus on his emotions, saying that on a 10-point scale, roughly: 0 points - this is the worst; 10 points - it can’t be better; 5 points - “neither this nor that”; less than 5 points - below the average level; more than 5 points - above the average level. You can even go further: In fifteen years. In twenty years. In thirty years. However, as practice shows, teenagers, most often, find it difficult to think about a time that is much longer than the years they have lived! I recommend: writing down the teenager’s answers, so that they can be read to him later! It is very important that the person choosing a profession voices his choice HIMSELF! If the stickers were colored (if they are not available, you can use ordinary pieces of paper), you can also ask the child after completing the exercise about what criteria he/she used to choose a certain color for a particular path. For example: - Sash, why did you choose blue stickers for the profession of a doctor, and green stickers for the profession of a psychologist? - Which color do you like best? - What does each of the colors mean to you? For such questions, intuitively you will understand the preferences of your ward! Time Line and Metaphorical Associative Cards In the comments to the previous article there was such an interesting addition from a colleague. In conclusion, I will propose this diagram: PS Next time I’ll tell you how to carry out similar selection of anything using the Time Line and MAC in online format.
